The Equis Save Foundation is a haven for horses of all ages, breeds, and training levels. Not only do they rescue horses
“Our mission is to promote the rescue of slaughter-bound and neglected horses by letting the world know what rescue horses can do through public education and rewarding the accomplishments of rescue horses in all aspects of Equine Sport.”
3 Ways Equis Save is Spreading Awareness for Rescue Horses
1. Recognition Program
To encourage the rescue and retraining of neglected and slaughter-bound horses, the ESF has created the Rescue Recognition program (R.R.P.). As a result, the R.R.P. offers high point rescue awards at open horse shows and competitions for eligible horses. A “Rescue” is any horse that was slaughter bound, neglected, saved from a Kill Pen, or adopted from Rescue. Learn More.
2. Rescue of the Year
The Rescue of the Year Award, awards a horse rescue or sanctuary providing rescue, rehabilitation, retraining, and adoption services to rescue horses. These horses must be rescues from kill pens or severe neglect/abuse situations. Furthermore, the winning sanctuary or rescue will receive a $1000 grant to go towards the care of rescue horses and facility upkeep. Learn More.
